When get to ozoro let a bike take you to the local government secretariat, for quick understanding of the bike man tell him you are going to the local government council, in 5 minutes you should be there, while going you should take with you two or more copy of your recent passport but two is what they need, also take with you N3,000 Naira outside your transport fair and a pen.
Step 2. Let the bike man take you inside the Secretariat, when you drop there ask which office you can process a local government of origin, it the first left hand road when you enter inside the secretariat, look for the office and go in, tell any one you find inside there that you want to process your local government of origin, we hope you know how to speak isoko, at least you should be hearing isoko or ready to explain why you are not speaking nor even hearing, you will be giving a form to fill, they are going to charge you N100 for the form, in that form your passport will be requested, if you didn’t go with passport then they will redirect you to go outside and take passport in front of the court.
Mistake to avoid while filling this form, is using two English name such as your using English name for your name and surname e.g “MICKEAL JAMES” or “JAMES CYNTHIA” if make this mistake this is were the whole process will become stressful for you because the officer there will refuse to sign the form thinking your are pretending to be isoko and tell you to go and look for your village councilor for recognition and sign for you to prove you are really from Isoko.
The process is really stressful because you will have to go to the chairman section to look for your village councilor where you will pass through some difficult questions such as who is your father, your grand father, your father street address, how long do you often visit the village so on. You don’t have to be worried much when you are told to go look for your village councilor to sign for you if you can defend yourself because it not difficult to find your village councilor, he or she is still around the premises, all you have to do is go and look for his/her office around at the chairman’s office. To locate your village councilor ask for the chairman’s office, go straight and tell any one you find there that you are looking for your village councilor and explain things to him/her. The only stressful part of it is when your councilor is not be around or even didn’t come, you will have to wait or come back the next day, if you are impatience waiting for your councilor you can take the form to your village king to recognize you and sign for you because till the form is sign by your village king or councilor there won’t be any progress to your local government of origin process. So it will be better you avoid the mistake of using two English name, the correct way to write you name should filling your surname in isoko and you name can be English or what so ever e.g “ONORIODE CYNTHIA” the first is your surname and the second is your name.
WARNING: Use the name you have been using on your credentials for the local government of origin in order not to be rejected by schools or employers just because you don’t want to go through stress and change your name in the local government of origin, it will more better to look for your village councilor to identify you and sign for you than making a big mistake you will regret, so write your name exactly how it been used on your credentials.
Step 3: After filling the form then submit it to the same person who gave it to you, this is point you will know if you will look for your village councilor or not.
Step 4. When the form get signed by him or your village councilor you will be giving a teller containing their account number and name, you will have to go to unity bank to pay in the sum of N2,000.
Note: the unity bank is far from the secretariat so you will have to get a bike. After paying when you are on your way back to the Secretariat you will have to stop at the cyber cafe in front of the court and photocopy the teller you use in paying in the N2000, if you forget this process they will redirect you back to photocopy it when you get inside.
Step 5: after giving them the bank teller photocopy you use in paying, you will be ask to wait outside the office, this is the process of them printing the certificate and submitting it to the chairman to sign. When it ready you will be called to come collect it, better still keep checking on them to know when it ready and to hasting them because they talk too much, this process should take at least 30 minutes if the chairman or assistant chairman is in his office. when collecting the certificate you will be charge additional N100.
