Categories and Topics
The competition is open to students in both secondary and tertiary institutions. Here are the details for each category:
Tertiary Category
Topic: “Using Technology for Social Good: How Digital Skills Can Be Leveraged to Promote Transparency in Governance.”
Participants in this category are expected to submit an essay of about 1,500 words. The essay should focus on the originality and logical presentation of how technological skills can address social and environmental issues. Examples include developing apps for healthcare or education, analyzing data for social justice causes, or creating digital tools for environmental sustainability.
Secondary Category
Topic: “Exploring Alternatives to Cybercrimes for Sustainable Development.”
Participants in the secondary category should submit an essay of about 1,000 words. The essay should clearly and originally present alternatives to cybercrimes and explain how young people can channel their energy and creativity into positive online pursuits, such as digital art, music, writing, or entrepreneurship.

Submission Guidelines
- Word Count: About 1,500 words for the tertiary category and about 1,000 words for the secondary category.
- Formatting: Double-spaced, Font 14 (Century Gothic).

Submission Period: From Thursday, August 8, 2024, to Monday, September 9, 2024. Winners will be invited to Abuja for the award presentation during the Cybercrime Summit tentatively scheduled for October 2024.

Six winners (three from each category) will receive the following prizes:
Tertiary Category:
- Winner: N800,000
- First runner-up: N500,000
- Second runner-up: N300,000
Secondary Category:
- Winner: N700,000
- First runner-up: N400,000
- Second runner-up: N300,000
Important Notes
- AI-assisted entries will be disqualified.
- Children and wards of EFCC personnel are not eligible to participate.
