UNIPORT Student, Justina Otuene, Murdered by Her Boyfriend

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) community is in shock after the death of Justina Otuene, a 300-level Biochemistry student. She was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, Collins, who is a 400-level student in the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering at the same university.

According to eyewitness reports, Collins was caught while trying to dispose of Justina’s body. Neighbors alerted security officials after noticing suspicious movement around his residence. The police responded quickly and arrested him before he could escape.

Friends of the deceased said Justina was a bright and cheerful young woman who had recently celebrated her birthday on October 14. Her sudden death has left many students heartbroken.

Before her body was discovered, Justina had been declared missing after several attempts to reach her failed. Her classmates and family members had shared her pictures online, hoping someone would help locate her. Sadly, their hopes were crushed when her remains were found.

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed Collins’ arrest and assured the public that the case will be fully investigated. Officers have begun questioning the suspect and gathering evidence to determine what truly happened.

Meanwhile, the university community has urged students to stay alert and report any suspicious behavior. Safety experts also advise young people to share their locations with friends when visiting anyone, especially at night.

This tragic case has drawn national attention and sparked conversations about safety, trust, and the dangers of toxic relationships among young people. Many Nigerians on social media have continued to demand justice for Justina, calling on the authorities to ensure the suspect faces the full weight of the law.

Justice, they say, must be served.
