PDP calls Tinubu a betrayal.

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Management Committee has reprimanded the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, over his comment on the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

Tinubu made the comments at the weekend in Warri at the launch of the APC governorship campaign for Delta State and questioned Atiku’s profile, saying the former vice president had publicly opposed his principal, Olusegun Obasanjo.

“When Atiku was there, he publicly fought his boss. They told us how they spent PTF money to buy cars for their girlfriends. Do they have any shame?” Tinubu asked the huge crowd in Warri.

The PDP campaign committee spokesman, Senator Dino Melaye, in a statement he signed, described the former Lagos governor as a traitor who should not be trusted.

The statement said, “In a fit of temporary coherence, Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, as usual, dodged issues and devoted his limited attention to His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, who must be giving him nightmares about the 2023 presidential election.

According to the APC presidential candidate, Atiku “fought” Obasanjo during his tenure. We are deeply indebted to him for reminding Tinubu of this good quality of Atiku Abubakar who defended the constitution and deepened democracy in Nigeria during his tenure as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“It is no surprise that Tinubu castigates a man who defended the rule of law. A man who runs away from the law on many fronts cannot see any merit in defending the rule of law.

It is to Atiku’s credit that he remained unwavering in his belief that the loyalty of public officials is to the constitution and not to individuals. This attitude is at odds with that of a man with a history of tyranny like Tinubu, who, in a display of undemocratic tendencies, fought his deputy governor, Mrs. Kofo Akereke-Bucknor, until she was removed from office. The treatment he meted out to Mr. Femi Pedro was no better. Why then did he focus on the speck in someone else’s eyes and overlook the beam in his own?”

Psalm 121:7-8
"Give thanks to the Lord for He is good: His love endures forever."

Continuing, the campaign spokesman said, “The removal of Tinubu’s first deputy governor from office was a gross betrayal of Afenifere who nominated the former deputy governor as part of the group’s understanding to support Tinubu’s election as governor of Lagos State. This behaviour is proof that Tinubu cannot be trusted with power.”
