The National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT, has ordered its members to close all laboratories, workshops, studios and businesses.

NAAT has also instructed all its branches to commence a two-week warning strike from Monday, January 21, 2022, over the federal government’s alleged failure to implement the 2009 agreement.
The federation said the decision to embark on a two-week warning strike was taken following a virtual meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) in Abuja, where 97.8 percent of its branches voted in favour of a strike.
The federation accused the government of failing to honour the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with its members, although a number of letters were written to the government to which there was no response.
In a statement signed by its president, Comrade Ibeji Nwokoma, NAAT directed its members in all branches to commence the two-week warning strike, which is scheduled to end on April 5.
The statement said, “It will be recalled that NAAT at its 53rd National Executive Committee meeting on February 23 and 24, 2022 indicated that NAAT may be forced to take industrial action if the government fails to honour the 2009 agreement with NAAT members, taking into consideration several Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) as well as a number of letters written to the Federal Government without any response.
