The new telecommunications satellite TV operator, TSTV Africa, will start commercial operations on November 1. The company has spent months preparing, testing, and obtaining regulatory approvals, which marks a significant step for pay-TV services in Nigeria.

Mr. Bright Echefu, the Managing Director of TSTV, told journalists on Saturday in Abuja that the company plans to revolutionize satellite television in Nigeria. He emphasized that TSTV aims to provide high-quality channels, affordable subscription plans, and reliable service across all states. Furthermore, TSTV expects to increase competition in the pay-TV market, which will give consumers more choices and better prices.

Initially, TSTV will distribute about one million decoders nationwide. In addition, the company will release around 5,000 decoders next week for free. These early units will come with a one-month free subscription so that users can test the service and provide feedback. This approach allows potential subscribers to experience TS TV before committing to long-term subscriptions.

“We will officially start selling our decoders on Nov. 1, and every part of Nigeria will have TSTV decoders available. We are releasing about one million units that can circulate nationwide, and we aim to distribute one million units in the first quarter. Every following quarter, we will release another one million units, targeting four million units within the next year. Next week, some decoders will reach Nigerians for testing across all 36 states. These free decoders, close to 5,000 units, will be available for two weeks,” he said.

Moreover, TS TV Africa will provide various channels, including news, sports, entertainment, and educational content. The company focuses on affordability to reach households that could not afford premium satellite TV. Consequently, millions of Nigerians will gain access to quality information and entertainment.

Additionally, TS TV plans to operate regional offices to deliver after-sales services and customer support. Therefore, households can expect a reliable and innovative pay-TV solution tailored for Nigeria.

With the nationwide rollout on November 1, TSTV Africa is set to transform the pay-TV landscape. Ultimately, television viewers in Nigeria will enjoy affordable, high-quality, and accessible satellite TV options.
