Train service between Abujaand Kaduna will resume on November 28, 2022.
This comes eight months after service was suspended due to terrorist attacks on the route.
This was told by a source at Idu station to our correspondent in Abuja on Thursday.
The PUNCH had reported that terrorists attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train on March 28, 2022, kidnapping 168 passengers and killing eight others.
The victims have since been gradually released, the last 23 in October.
According to the source, some contractors were at Idu station to install the tracker and cameras.
“They could not install the cameras, but they installed the trackers on LOKO 2809 and DMU 003.
The managing director of Nigeria Railway Coporation, Fidet Okhiria, is supervising the work from Lagos. We propose to start operations next week Monday.”
