The Ogun State Police Command has arrested seven people, including a prophet, over an alleged ritual killing and trade in human parts.
How the Case Started
According to Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu, officers found a human heart and two containers filled with body parts during the arrest.
The suspects include Moses Abidemi, Oluwo Monday, Prophet Peter Akiwunmi Ifatosin, Jamiu Yusuf, Sheriff Agbai, and Osojieahen Alioneitoura.
The case began on January 9, when Ms. Sulaimon Adijat was declared missing. She had gone on a date with Adebayo Azeez before disappearing. When her phone remained off, the police’s anti-kidnapping unit launched a deeper investigation.
Discovery of a Money Ritual Plot
Investigators discovered that the suspects planned to perform a money ritual known as “Oshole.”
They believed the ritual would generate ₦200 million within seven days.
Two of the suspects, Agbai and Alioneitoura, reportedly paid ₦800,000 to Oluwo Monday to prepare the ritual.
Oluwo then contacted Prophet Peter, who agreed to find a young woman between 18 and 20 years old for the sacrifice.
The suspects later confirmed that the ritual required specific body parts, including the victim’s head, breasts, vagina, and wrists.
Police Uncover Shocking Evidence
On January 10, Sheriff and Osojieahen collected the funds for the ritual and returned to Edo State.
When the ritual failed to produce the expected money, the group began to argue.
Further investigation led police to Moses’s shrine, where they found female purses and two cement sacks containing skeletal remains.
Suspects Confess and Investigation Continues
All seven suspects confessed to taking part in the crime and explained their roles.
Commissioner Alamutu confirmed that efforts are ongoing to arrest others still at large.
He also assured residents that the Ogun Police Command will pursue justice and prevent similar incidents in the future.
The case highlights the urgent need for public awareness and stronger community policing to stop ritual killings and protect vulnerable people.
