England captain Harry Kane is to undergo an examination on his ankle two days before the World Cup match against the United States, it was reported on Wednesday.
Kane left the Khalifa International Stadium on Monday after the 6-2 win over Iran with a bandage on his ankle, but took part in a light training session on Tuesday.
Gareth Southgate’s side face the Americans on Friday knowing a win would guarantee them a place in the knockout stages.
Kane, the top scorer at the last World Cup in Russia, has a history of ankle injuries.
