Britain suspends work and study visa applications in Nigeria to give priority to Ukrainians

The United Kingdom (UK) has temporarily suspended applications for work, study, and family visas in Nigeria to “give priority to applications made under the Ukraine family scheme and to respond to the humanitarian crisis resulting from the invasion of Ukraine.”

In a statement yesterday, the United Kingdom said that the Ukrainian family scheme will allow applicants to join family members or extend their stay in the United Kingdom. They will also be able to live, work and study in the UK and access public funds. The statement said that as a result of the decision, UK Visas and Immigration ( UKVI) has “temporarily suspended priority and super-priority services for new study, work and family applications.”

“Customers with standard study, work and family applications may experience some delays in processing their application.
