First Nation Airline in Nigeria suspends operations

Civil Aviation Authority Confirmed First Nation Airline in Nigeria suspends operations

On Friday 2nd September 2016 the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority make it a notice that the Nigeria Airline has suspended operation temperately. However Informationhood learned that This is coming in less than 24 hours Aero Contractors Airlines, Nigeria’s second largest commercial carrier, announced their own suspension which take effect from Thursday, September 1, 2016.

According to Director-General of the NCAA, Capt. Muhtar Usman he stated that some of the domestic airlines were winding down their operations regardless of the fact that they had suspended flight services.

NCAA however in statement on Thursday  which was signed by DG, said, “The First Nation Airlines on its part is in the middle of an Engine Replacement Programme for one of its aircrafts. Another aircraft is due for mandatory maintenance as allowed by the regulatory authority.

“In these circumstances, these airlines clearly cannot continue to undertake schedule operations, hence the inevitable recourse to self regulatory suspension.”

Usman however insisted saying that, the domestic carriers is not a total wound down but for temperately in order to carry out some maintenance on their aircraft’s.
