Star Boy records manger, Ayodeji Balogun is everyone’s favorite artiste. A ‘Best International Act’ award winner back in 2017, the Ojueleba crooner have produced many hit songs over the year, with his ‘Come closer’ winning the AFRIMA Song Of The Year then. Of course, Wizzy became the first Afro-beat artiste to appear in the 2018 Guinness World Records for his contribution to Drake’s hit song, ‘One Dance’.

Whichever one, the Nigerian Entertainment 2017 award winner for the ‘Best Rap Act and the Best Album of the year have yet thrilled fans with hit songs like ‘Wo’, ‘Shaku-Shaku’, Science student and now have joined forces with his ally, Phyno to produce the rave of the moment, ‘Onyeoma’.
Phyno known as Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike was born in 1986, Phyno is a household name in Nigerian music, having won a number of awards since the start of his musical career back in 2003. His debut studio album, No Guts, No Glory was a national hit which projected him to greatness and he has gone to produce many more blazing hits. His latest collabo with his right hand man, Olamide (Onye Oma) is already a trending song in the country.
5. Don Jazzy
Mavins Record supremo, Michael Collins Ajereh is a record producer, singer, songwriter as well as an entrepreneur who have carved out a niche for himself in the Nigerian music sector. A one-time winner of the ‘Producer of the year’ award for Dorobucci, Don Jazzy have recruited most renowned Nigerian musicians into the Mavins records of which includes D’Banj, Dr SID, D’Prince, Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello, Di’Ja, Reekado Banks and others.
Simisola Ogunleye, popularly known by her stage name ‘Simi’ had his song ‘Smile for Me’ as one of the first songs that set the bar high in early 2017. The song had an outstanding lyrical content and creativity in it which culminated in her winning the “Songwriter of the Year” award at the 2017 AFRIMA. She also won City People Music Award for “Best Collabo of the Year” (No Forget). Her song “Joromi” was also named among the MTV Base Top 20 Naija songs last year. ‘Restless’, ‘Chemistry’ and ‘Simisola’ are just a few of her other sound hits.
7. Tiwa Savage
Marvin Record’s Diva, Tiwatope Savage-Balogun is a singer, songwriter, performer and actress. Currently, she has a running songwriting deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Wanted, Oyi, Girlie’O are just a few of her songs. ‘All Over’ won her the ‘Best Female artist in West Africa’ at the 2017 AFRIMA award. The song was also Number 17 among the MTV Base Top 20 Naija songs in 2017. She has also won the City People Music Award for ‘Music Artist of the Year (Female category).’

Innocent Ujah Idibia is undoubtedly another household name in the Nigerian music industry. One of the most decorated and successful Afro popsters in Africa, 2baba has produced many hit albums of which Face 2 Face, Grass 2 Grace, The Unstoppable, The Ascension are just a select few. Last year, he won the City People Music’s ‘Music Industry Giant Award’ as well as ‘Best African Reggae/Dance-Hall’ (Holy holy) at the AFRIMA. His song ‘Gaaga Shuffle’ was also named among the MTV Base Top 20 Naija songs of 2017.
Even though they seem to have gone defunct now, The Okoye twins are still a national force and have a lot of fans all over the country. Rick Ross, Diamond Platnumz, T.I., Dave Scott are just some of the foreign artists that they have had association acts with. They have won a number of awards as a duo and fans would think Peter and Paul are still better off working as a team. They currently work as separate bodies with stage names as Rude Boy and Mr P.
Born Augustine Miles Kelechi but simply known as Tekno, he was first signed under K-Money Entertainment and his first single titled ‘Holiday’ was featured by Davido before all of ‘Duro, ‘Maria’, ‘Wash’ followed. Last year, his songs which were club banging hits includes ‘Yawa’ and ‘Rara’ among others. Yawa is one of his fans favourite with over 19 million views on Youtube since it dropped in March 2017 and produced by Masterkraft.
